The OMLRA Constitution

  1. The Official name of the organisation shall be the Oil Mill Lane Residents Association.
  2. The Association is non-party-political and non profit making.
  3. The aims and objectives of the Association shall be:
    1. To protect and conserve the rural integrity of our environment.
    2. To be involved in planning and management of our rural area.
    3. To promote interest in an understanding of issues that affect Oil Mill Lane and surrounding areas.
  4. Membership is open to all who live in Oil Mill Lane, and lanes leading from it.
  5. The Committee of the Association shall consist of nominated members as required by the committee and the following officers: a Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary, all of whom shall be members of the Association and elected to their positions annually.
  6. The Committee
    1. The management and control of the affairs of the Association shall be in the hands of the Committee. Four members of the Committee shall constitute a quorum.
    2. The Committee may appoint ad hoc committees for special purposes.
  7. The Annual General meeting of members shall be held annually. Nominations for Officers and any resolutions to be moved at the Annual General Meeting shall be sent to the secretary prior to the AGM.
  8. The Association shall meet when necessary, but not less than twice a year. Attendance is restricted to members only, and guests invited with the approval of the Committee.
  9. No member or Officer shall make written or oral statements or decisions on behalf of the Association without prior consent of at least 3 members of the Committee.
  10. All members should have access to a copy of the constitution.
